TEHRAN -- The Tehran Municipality plans to present a package of cultural gifts to foreign officials at the 16th Non-Alignment Movement summit, which opened in the metropolis on Sunday.
The package entitled “This Is Tehran, Two Centuries as Capital” has been prepared by the Art and Cultural Organization of Tehran Municipality, the organization announced in a press release.
The package is comprised of a multimedia DVD of information about Tehran, which is in Persian, Arabic and English. It also includes 50 postcards of ancient and modern Tehran.
The Tehran Municipality has made many plans over the past two weeks to present a pleasant image of the capital to the foreign officials invited to the NAM summit.
Many bridges and public buildings have been decorated with colorful lights.
The municipality has also created murals of Founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini and Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei as part of the plans to decorate Tehran for the summit, Tehran Municipality’s Beautification Organization Director Javad Shustari said in a press release on Sunday.
Many banners describing Iran’s nuclear program as peaceful have been set up in all directions leading to IRIB’s International Conference Center and the Summit Conference Hall, the venues hosting the NAM summit until Friday.
