Books on Persian, Tajik literary commonalities introduced in Dushanbe

TEHRAN – Three books on Persian and Tajik commonalities in literature have been introduced during a meeting in the Tajik capital Dushanbe.
 
A group of Iranian and Tajik scholars and officials attended the meeting held at the Tajik Academy of Sciences last week, the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization announced in a press release on Wednesday.
 
“Iran in Tajik Contemporary Poetry” and “The History of Modern Tajik Literature”, both authored by Ali-Asghar Sherdust in Persian and Cyrillic, have been published by Iran’s Elmi-Farhangi Publishing Company.
 
Authored by Tajik scholar Vali Samad, “Ferdowsi’s Shahnameh and Chernyshevsky” was printed by Iran’s Shahriaran Publications.
 
Ali-Asghar Sherdust, who is also the Iranian ambassador to Dushanbe, Elmi-Farhangi Director Ali Zarei Najafdari, Tajik Academy of Sciences Director Mamadsho Ilolov,and Tajikistan National Library Director Nosir Salimov were also in attendance during the meeting.
 
“We should boost academic and cultural relations to help our national culture and civilization survive,” Najafdari said in a short speech.
