TEHRAN – A total of 119 cartoons by artists from Iran and 75 other countries will be competing in the 5th Fajr International Festival of Visual Arts, which will be held in Tehran from February 2 to 28.
The cartoon section of this year’s festival will focus on the theme of justice.
Cartoonists from France, Bulgaria, Portugal, Georgia, Serbia, Belgium, Mexico, Iraq and many other countries have submitted their works to the festival.
Among the artists are Agus Vidodo from Indonesia, Seyran Caferli from Azerbaijan, Hicabi Demirci from Turkey, Alexander Dubovsky from Ukraine, Julian Pena-Pai from Romania, Bernard Bouton from France, Angel Boligan from Mexico, Ronaldo Cunha Dias from Brazil and António Santos from Portugal from Serbia.
Kambiz Derambakhsh, Javad Alizadeh, Masud Shojaei, Mohammad-Hossein Nirumand and Gholamali Latifi are on the jury of this section.
Iranian cartoonists Mahmud Azadnia, Saman Ahmadi, Mohsen Asadi, Babak Esmaeili, Nima Shahmiri, Ehsan Ganji, Dariush Sufi, Puya Abdoli, Hamid Sufi, Javad Takju, and Parvin Mohammadi and several other artists will also compete during the festival.
This section was to be held on the theme of “The Enemy’s Delusion”, the secretary of this section asked the organizers to change it to “Justice”.
