TEHRAN – The 33rd Fajr International Theater Festival will honor four stage artists for their lifetime achievements during the closing ceremony tonight.
Actor Jafar Vaali, actress Badrossadat Beranjani, director and writer Ahmad Sepasdar and theater teacher Hossein-Ali Tabatabaii will be honored with special awards during the ceremony, the organizers reported on Saturday.
Vaali began his artistic career as an actor and later began directing several plays on stage. He was also active as a dubber and had lent his voice to several films.
Beranjani went on stage when she was only 12. She has continued until today and has played roles in about 170 plays.
Director and writer Ahmad Sepasdar is a graduate of dramatic arts. He has directed several plays such as “Rustam and Sohrab” and “Wild Swans”. He has also played in several other plays.
Tabatabaii is theater teacher. He has studied French language and literature, and has translated about 40 French plays into Persian.
Veteran actors such as Ezzatolah Entezami, Jamshid Mashayekhi and Fakhri Khorvash have mostly acted in the plays.
