Persepolis Orchestra to give concert in Tehran

TEHRAN -- Vocalist Bijan Kamkar will be accompanying the Persepolis Orchestra in its upcoming performance at Tehran’s Milad Tower on October 4.
 
Conducted by Masud Habibi, the 60-member orchestra will be performing a variety of pieces composed by musician Pedram Derakhshani, Kamkar said in a press conference held at the Iranian Artists Forum on Monday.
 
Local compositions have also been arranged to be performed by the members of the orchestra, Bijan Kamkar, a member of Iranian Kurdish ensemble the Kamkars added.
 
Derakhshani also said that the group of 60 musicians in the orchestra who will be playing a combination of different musical instruments is a new experience.
 
In addition, several pop bands and a choir will accompany the musicians, Derakhshani added.
 
Conductor Habibi, also present at the conference, promised that the viewers will be watching a different concert this time.
 
Kurosh Babaii, Hana Kamkar, Alireza Miraqa, Milad Derakhshani, Parham Saremi, Hossein Sharifi and Farshad Rezaii are some of the musicians accompanying the orchestra.
