Tehran Sculpture Symposium hosts foreign artists

TEHRAN -- The 4th Tehran Sculpture Symposium, which opened at the Qasr Museum Garden on Monday, is playing host to a group of foreign sculptors.
 
The group includes Roland Mayer from Germany, Mario Lopez from Portugal, Hiroyuki Asakawa from Japan and Umit Turgay Durgun from Turkey.
 
Miguel Isla and Ronaldo Alvarez from Spain, Javier Astorga from Mexico and Francesco Panceri from Italy are other members of the group.
 
The artists along with 11 Iranian sculptors and 12 university students are scheduled to create a number stone sculptures during the symposium. 
 
A veteran Iranian sculptor is scheduled to create a work with the theme of “Prophethood”, which will be unveiled during the closing ceremony on October 7, symposium secretary Mojtaba Musavi said during the opening ceremony of the event.
 
Barzin Zarghami, Saeid Shahlapur, Iraj Mohammadi, Taher Sheikholhokamaii, Simin Ekrami and Sahand Hesamian are the jury members of the symposium.
