TEHRAN – Iranian filmmaker Parviz Rostami’s “Melody Bard” won the Best Short Film Award at the 1st Duhok International Film Festival in Iraq’s Kurdistan.
The movie takes a formal and aesthetic look at rocks in a mountainous geography and their applications in human life from birth to death.
The Iranian Oscar-winning movie “A Separation” by Asghar Farhadi went on screen during the closing ceremony of the festival on September 16.
The French film “If you Die, I’ll Kill You” directed by Hiner Saleem won the Best Film Award of the event.
The main goal of the festival is to bridge the gap between Kurdish film production and worldwide filmmaking. The organizers also want to create an atmosphere through this annual international event for exchanging different cultural and human values.
