TEHRAN -- Tehran’s Shirin Gallery will playing host to an art show, which will promote the protection of the environment.

The exhibition entitled “Eco-Home” will open tomorrow at 6 p.m., curator Behnam Kamrani told the Persian service of IRNA on Wednesday.

The exhibition will display works by eleven art students, who attended an educational course that was held by Kamrani last year.

“The artists have tried to highlight the importance of the protection of the environment for visitors by their works in painting, photography, digital art and video art,” Kamrani said.

“This exhibit acknowledges that home is not just where we live, but it includes nature with all its trees and animals. Thus, as we attach importance to the beautification and cleaning in our homes, we should also try to protect the environment,” he added.

The artworks have been created by Ashkan Zahraii, Esmat Alirezaii, Farid Aminoleslam, Fatemeh Dowlatabadi, Jila Kabudvand, Parisa Kabudvand, Leila Refahi, Mahruzh Mahmudi, Parisa Purmolkara, Zahran Soleimani and Setareh Hosseini.

Kamrani and his students are scheduled to attend a session at the gallery on June 20 to discuss the connection between art and the environment.

The show will run until June 26 at the gallery, which is located at 145 North Salimi St., off Andarzgu Blvd. in the Farmanieh neighborhood.
