TEHRAN -- The winners of the 30th edition of Iran’s Book of the Year Awards were announced on Saturday.
The awards were presented by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad during a ceremony at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall.
The Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance is the main organizer of the Book of the Year Awards.
The following is a list of the winners in various categories:
* Philosophy and psychology (Two winners were announced in this category.)
1. “The Theory of Interpretation” by Ahmad Va’ezi
2. “The History of Philosophy” by Emile Bréhier, translated by Esmaeil Sa’adat
* Religion (Four winners were announced in this category.)
1. “Al-Kafi” by Sheikh Koleini (Translated by Hossein Ostadvali)
2. “The Rules of Ekhbariyun (The Rules of Proponents of News and Narration)” by Ebrahim Beheshti
3. “The Infallibility of Imam in Shiism” by Mohammad-Hossein Faryab
4. “A Research on the Indisputable Verses and the Verses Admitting of Allegorical Interpretation” by Mohammad As’adi and Mahmud Tayyeb-Hosseini
* Social science
“The Political Thoughts of Imam Khomeini” by Ebrahim Barzegar
* Language
“Words and Their Meaning from Middle Persian to Farsi” by Katayun Mazdapur
* Science (Two winners were announced for this category.)
1. “Apoplexy” by Mahmudreza Azarpajuh
2. “Kitab Kifayat al-Tibb (The Extent of Medical Knowledge)” by Hubaysh al-Tiflisi corrected by Zahra
