“The West and the Iranian Elites” (“Traverse occidentale: la formation d’une nouvelle élite Iranienne”) will be published by the Institute for Iranian Historical Studies and Methodologica Universitas, the Persian service of MNA reported on Sunday.
The first volume of the book will be available in European bookstores late February.
This volume scrutinizes the key role of the Iranian students who were sent to Europe during the Qajar dynasty in the formation of the elites.
The other volumes will gradually be released through October 2013.
The second and third volumes contain material about the Iranian elites during the reigns of Reza Shah (1925-1941) and his son Mohammad Reza Shah (1941-1979).
The third focuses on the elites who arose after the revolution in 1979.
Delfani holds a Ph.D. in modern history from Sorbonne University in Paris.
He is the founder and president of the Institute for Iranian Studies in France.
He is also the founder and editor of the Encyclopaedia Historia Iranica in France.
