TEHRAN -- Russian Minister of Culture Vladimir Medinsky arrived in Tehran to visit a number of Iranian officials and cultural centers on Friday.
Medinsky’s visit to Tehran was organized following an invitation of his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Hosseini, Iranian cultural attaché Abuzar Ebrahimi told the Persian service of IRNA on Friday.
Vadim Duda, Director of the Department of Information Policy and International Relations of the Ministry of Culture, and a number of other Russian cultural officials will accompany Medinsky during the visit.
A protocol on organizing a Russian cultural week in Tehran in 2013 will be signed during the visit, he said.
The Russian delegation is scheduled to visit the National Museum of Iran and Tehran’s Milad Tower.
Meetings have also been organized with the director of the Islamic Cultural Relations Organization and the director of the Iran National Library and Archives.
An Iranian cultural delegation led by Hosseini traveled to Russia in October to attend an Iranian cultural week, which was held in Moscow and St. Petersburg.
They also met Medinsky and a number of other Russian cultural officials during the visit.
