“Here without Me” crowned best film at London festival

TEHRAN -- “Here without Me” directed by Bahram Tavakkoli has been named the Best Feature Film at the 3rd London Iranian Film Festival.
 
The winners were announced at the closing ceremony of the festival on November 23.
 
A screen adaptation of Tennessee Williams’s “A Glass Menagerie”, “Here without Me” is about Yalda, a kind, pretty and gentle girl who is ashamed of her limp.
 
The Best Documentary Award went to “Dark Room” by Mahvash Sheikholeslami.
 
“The Boxes” by Ehsan Jafari was selected as the Best Short Film and the Best Animation Award went to “The Long Way Home” by Amanda Scott.
 
The London Iranian Film Festival is the only annual festival to present Iranian cinema in the UK. 
 
The festival aims to produce the best and most diverse Iranian film program in the country, and to attract as many people as possible to view Iranian cinema.
