Turkmenistan to host Iranian cultural festival

TEHRAN –
An Iranian cultural festival will be held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan from March 5 to 9, the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) announced on Tuesday.

Exhibitions of Persian artworks and handicrafts, and musical performances have been arranged for the festival.


“The Pruitt-Igoe Myth” to go on screen in Tehran

TEHRAN -
Chad Friedrich’s “The Pruitt-Igoe Myth”, a 2011 documentary detailing the history of a housing complex in the U.S., will be screened today at the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art.

“The Pruitt-Igoe Myth” explores the social, economic and legislative issues that led to the decline of conventional public housing in the United States.

Destroyed in a dramatic and highly-publicized implosion, the Pruitt-Igoe public housing complex has become a widespread symbol of failure among architects, politicians and policy makers.


Director of CHTHO attends Berlin tourism festival

TEHRAN –
The director of Iran’s Cultural Heritage Tourism and Handicrafts Organization (CHTHO), Masoud Soltanifar, arrived in Germany early on Tuesday to attend the opening ceremony of the Internationale Tourismus Borse (ITB) in Berlin.

He also plans to enter into talks with a number of international tourism organizations and companies to discuss ways to expand relations.   

The ITB covers all aspects of travel and tourism including countries, tour operators, booking system developers, airlines, hotels and other businesses concerned with the tourism industry.
