Flutist Forugh Karimi to hold master classes in Tehran

TEHRAN – Vienna-based Iranian musician and flutist Forugh Karimi will hold master classes at Tehran’s Shahrashub Music Institute from February 12 to 14.

 

Karimi, 60, is an associate professor and practitioner of music-kinesiology at the University of Music and Performing Arts of Vienna.

 

Tehran center to host piano recitals

TEHRAN -- Hushang Khayyam will perform piano recitals at the Niavaran Cultural Center today and tomorrow.

 

Classic pieces composed by himself and Johannes Brahms and César Franck during the recitals entitled “A Window to the Past”.

 

Tehran Symphony Orchestra to return to stage at Fajr music festival

TEHRAN – The Tehran Symphony Orchestra will return to the stage by performing at the 30th Fajr International Music Festival, which will be held from February 13 to 20.

 

Shardad Rohani and Manuchehr Sahbaii will conduct the orchestra, which has not performed any concerts over the past six years.

 

Iranian films to go on screen in Tunisia

TEHRAN – Thirty-one Iranian movies will be screened in several Tunisian cities during the Ten-Day Dawn celebrations (February 1-11), which is held annually in Iran to commemorate the anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution.

 

The films will go on screen from February 5 and the Iranian cultural attaché’s office in Tunis is organizing the event.
