Tehran institute to host meeting on Dostoevsky
TEHRAN – The Porsesh Institute in Tehran will host a colloquium entitled A Seminar on the Humanity of Dostoevsky this evening.
 
Hamidreza Atashbarab, an Iranian translator of Russian literature, will speak on Dostoevsky’s Inquisition. 
 
Ali Abdollahi, an Iranian translator German literature, will deliver a speech on the connections between Dostoevsky and Nietzsche.
 
The institute is located at 3 Shabnam Alley, off Qaem Maqam Ave.
 
 
IAF to hold meeting on comparative literature 
TEHRAN – The Iranian Artists Forum (IAF) will host a seminar on Comparative Literature and World Literature on January 11.
 
Scholar Alireza Anushiravani and translator Saeid Firuz Abadi will deliver speeches during the event.
 
Egyptian author Muhammad Ghanimi Hilal’s book “Dirasat adabiyah muqaranah: Majnun Laylá, Antuniyu wa-Kiliyubatrah, Hibatiya” will be introduced during the event.
 
Published by Ney Publications, the book was translated into Persian by Hadi Nazari-Monazzam and Reihaneh Manusri.
 
 
Seven female-fronted bands to perform at Fajr festival
TEHRAN – Seven female-fronted Iranian ensembles are scheduled to perform at the 30th Fajr International Music Festival, which will be held in Tehran from February 12 to 20.
 
Only women will be allowed to attend the concerts to be performed by these bands, most of which are led by their singers.
 
Bahareh Ilchi’s Setareh-ye Qotbi, Parvin Soltani’s Dadmehr and Fahimeh Nurfardi’s Persia are among the bands.
