Persian language experts from Russia visiting Iran

TEHRAN -- A group of Persian language experts from Russia arrived in Tehran on Saturday to visit Iran and also attend a special Iranology course.
Iran’s Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), which is the organizer of the course, announced that the course will begin today and will run for two weeks.
The group includes Professor Marina Reisner of the Moscow State University, Professor Arthur Ambartsumian of the St. Petersburg State University, Alsu Arslanova of the Kazan branch of the Russian-Iranian Society, Ismagil Gibadullin of the Kazan Federal University, and scholars A.N. Ardashnikova and Natalia Potapova,
Book of Imam Sajjad (AS) on human rights published in Urdu, Hindi

TEHRAN -- The Risalah al-Huquq (“A Treatise on Rights”), the book of Imam Sajjad (AS) that contains his advice on human rights has recently been published in Urdu and Hindi in New Delhi.
The book was published by the Iranian cultural attaché’s office in New Delhi with the help of Iran’s Ahlul-Bayt World Assembly.
In this book, Imam Sajjad (AS) describes examples of 51 different rights.
Iran to hold film festival in Serbia

TEHRAN – The Iranian cultural attaché’s office plans to organize a film festival in some Serbian cities during February to celebrate the 36th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic revolution.
The cities of Belgrade, Novisad, Uzice, Nis and Smederevo will host the festival, Iranian cultural attaché Mahmud Shaluii said in a press release on Saturday.
In a meeting with Shaluii last week, Yugoslav Film Archive Director Radoslav Zelenovic said that his institute plans to honor some Iranian cineastes during the opening ceremony of the festival.

TEHRAN – Two Iranian films will compete in the 37th Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, which will be held in France from January 30 to February 7.
“Futile Garden” by Ghazaleh Soltani and “The Fish and I” by Babak Habibifar will go on screen at the international competition section of the festival.
Tehran center to host exhibition of art books

TEHRAN -- The Gallery No. 2 of the Niavaran Cultural Center will host an exhibition of art books, which will open today.
Books published by renowned publishers, including Antique Collectors’ Club, Routledge and Rotovision Books from UK and Phidan from Belgium, will go on display during the exhibit.
The book fair will run until January 11 at the center, which can be found on Pasdaran Ave. in the Niavaran neighborhood.
“The Possessed” by Camus published in Persian

TEHRAN – French author Albert Camus’ “The Possessed” has recently been published in Persian in Iran.
Khashayar Deyhimi is the translator of the book, which was published by Mahi Publications.
Written in 1959, the piece is a theatrical adaptation of Fyodor Dostoyevsky’s novel “The Possessed”, later renamed “Demons”.
