TEHRAN – Eighty Iranian ensembles have applied to participate in the 30th Fajr International Music Festival to be held in Tehran during February 2015.
The finalists will be announced later by a board of selection that is currently studying and choosing the ensembles, the Public Relations office of the festival reported on Sunday.
Sixty one groups including 23 from Tehran and 38 from other cities have applied to participate in the Iranian classic music category.
In the non-Iranian category, 19 ensembles have submitted requests to participate.
In addition, 38 musicians have applied to take part in the Iranian music composition category.
Thirteen theses on music have also been submitted to the secretariat of the festival to be studied and selected later.
