TEHRAN – Winners of the 1st International Gaza Cartoon and Caricature Contest were announced during a ceremony at Tehran’s Andisheh Cultural Center on Saturday.
The contest was organized in the two sections of cartoon and portrait caricature, the Persian service of MNA reported on Sunday.
Jabber Asadi and Saeid Sadeqi from Iran were the first and second prize winners of the cartoon section, and Nikola Listes from Croatia was announced as the third prize winner.
The special prize of the cartoon section was given to Bahram Arjomandnia, Jamal Arabzadeh and Mehdi Azizi from Iran.
In the caricature section, the first prize went to Arash Forughi, and the second prize was handed to Mohsen Asadi.
The third prize was given to Antonio Manuel Ferreira Dos Santos from Portugal.
In addition, the special prize of the caricature section was handed to Alireza Pakdel, Nasrin Abdsheikhi and Yaser Khanbaray.
A jury panel comprised of Bahman Abdi, Habibollah Sadeqi, and Masud Shojaei-Tabatabaii from Iran, Muhittin Koroglu from Turkey and Raed Khalil from Syria selected the winners.
The selected works will be on display until tomorrow in the gallery located on Shariati St., in the Seyyed Khandan neighborhood.
