TEHRAN – An exhibition displaying works of a number of Iranian photojournalists opened at the Iranian Artists Forum (IAF) in Tehran on Sunday.
Organized by the Iranian Photojournalists’ Association, this is the second exhibit featuring 75 photos by 75 photojournalists, the director of the association, Kavus Sadeqlu, said during the opening ceremony.
Labor, Cooperatives and Social Welfare Minister Ali Rabiei also attended the ceremony.
Minister Rabiei called the event a new beginning for future exhibits, which can help spotlight poverty, injustice and social issues, IAF announced in a press release on Monday.
He added that the Ministry of Cooperatives, Labor, and Social Welfare will surely support these types of exhibits, since art can depict social dilemmas and truth in its typical form and language.
On receiving an honorary membership card of the association, the minister said that he believes art especially photography can express the realities in a society and keep people involved in different social issues.
Works by Parinaz Ale-Aqa, Arsalan Amanat, Satiyar Emami, Mehrdad Amini, Jamshid Bayrami, Mehid HOsseini, Adel Azizi, Kaveh Farzaneh, Javad Golzar, Farzad Hashemi and many more are on display.
The exhibit will be running until November 24 at the Forum located on Musavi St., off Taleqani Ave.
