Iranian society to honor Qeisar Aminpur

 

TEHRAN – The Iranian Society of Cultural Works and Luminaries plans to commemorate poet Qeisar Aminpur (1958-2007) during a ceremony, which will be held at Tehran’s Motahhari Hall on Saturday.

 

He was a member of the Academy of Persian Language and Literature.

 

The hall is located on No. 71, Bashiri St., Amir-Bahador Bridge, Vali-e Asr Ave.

“Melbourne” to compete in Cairo filmfest

 

TEHRAN – Iranian director Nima Javidi’s “Melbourne” will compete in the 36th Cairo International Film Festival, which will be held in Egypt from November 9 to 19.

 

The film is about a young couple, Amir and Sara, who plan to leave Tehran to try a new life in the Australian coastal city of Melbourne. However, a tragic event puts their plan at risk.
