TEHRAN – The Iranian film “The Fourth Child” and the documentary “Iranian Ninja” won top prizes at the 6th Baghdad International Film Festival on Sunday.
“The Fourth Child” directed by Vahid Musaian won the first prize in the feature length section.
The film is about an Iranian nurse who leaves her country to help people in the famine-ridden and war-torn country of Somalia. However, she begins a career in photography to raise awareness about the human disaster.
“Iranian Ninja” received the special jury prize in the documentary section.
Directed by Marjan Riahi, the documentary chronicles the struggles of Khatereh Jalilzadeh in Tehran who teaches young girls how to twirl nunchucks and launch dropkicks.
The first prize of this section of the festival went to “Passage into History” directed by Yiannis V. Lapatas from Greece.
