TEHRAN – The 28th Isfahan International Film Festival for Children and Young Adults will review the children’s cinema of the Czech Republic.
Ten short films produced by Czech directors over the past decade will be screened and discussed in a section at the festival, which will be held in the central Iranian city from October 3 to 6.
Veronika Jelinkova’s film “Don’t Be Curly” is in the lineup. It is about restless hair curls, troubles, dreams and the power of the wish we make.
“Inspector Whiskers” directed by Josef Lamka will also go on screen in the section. Inspector Whiskers has a kennel at his office because he is a dog. And yet he resolves the most difficult cases, on which the Ministry for Revealing Inexplicable Mysteries has given up.
“Jirka and the White Mice” is another highlight of the shortlist. Directed by Karel Janák, the film is about Jirka who is included on the father’s job interview with a scientist and accidentally releases a bunch of super-intelligent mice.
“Inventor Alva” by Ludek Bárta and “The Cottage on the Hill” by Šárka Váchová are also among the films.
