Director of Indian Council of Cultural Relations visits Persian language academy

TEHRAN – The director of the Indian Council of Cultural Relations, Satish C. Mehta, visited the Academy of Persian Language and Literature (APLL) in Tehran on Tuesday.
 
Mehta and APLL Director Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel discussed the expansion of cultural relations during the meeting.
 
They also stressed on reinforcement of bilateral cooperation, the Persian service of ISNA reported on Wednesday.
 
The enduring relationship between Iran and India is a valuable resource to help develop ties in different areas, Haddad-Adel said.
 
He added that cultural weeks will also help familiarize both countries with traditions and costumes. 
 
Haddad-Adel asked for more collaboration in different academic fields, and hoped the meeting would lead to increased cultural relations, and the promotion of tourism and handicrafts.
 
Satish C. Mehta expressed his happiness in visiting Iran and said, “The rich art and cultural achievements will provide the ground for expanded cultural ties.”
 
Development of relations in tourism and handicrafts, and facilitating the process of visiting both countries for artists will play a major role in increasing information about both countries, he added. 
 
Satish C. Mehta who is in Tehran also visited Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Organization (CHTHO) Deputy Director Mohammad-Hassan Talebian on Monday.
 
They both signed a new MOU to expand collaboration in cultural heritage and tourism activities.
