
The MOU was inked by CHTHO Deputy Director Mohammad-Hassan Talebian and Indian Council of Cultural Relations Director Satish C. Mehta in Tehran on Monday, Talebian told the Persian service of IRNA on Tuesday.
The two countries have agreed to expand collaboration in cultural heritage and tourism activities, he added.
Preservation and restoration of cultural heritage were also mentioned in the MOU, he stated.
In addition, holding cultural weeks and promoting tourism were stressed in this agreement, he added.
Iran and India had signed a MOU in 2008, Satish C. Mehta said, adding that he is in Tehran to extend the previous agreement.
He added that the new MOU also includes holding festivals of film, food and costume in both countries.
