Homayun Shajarian to perform in Tehran during August
TEHRAN – Vocalist Homayun Shajarian and a group of musicians, which will be led by composer and string instrumentalist Tahmures Purnazari, are scheduled to perform concerts in Tehran during August.
Songs from their latest album “Neither Angel nor Devil Am I” will be performed during the concerts, which will be held at the Grand Hall of the Ministry of Interior in Tehran from August 7 to 9, the producer of the album, Mohammad-Hossein Tutunchian, said in a press release on Wednesday.
“Nobody’s Perfect” on Billy Wilder to be published in Persian
American writers Charlotte Chandler’s biography of filmmaker Billy Wilder “Nobody’s Perfect: Billy Wilder, A Personal Biography” will be published in Persian by Nila Publications in Tehran in the near future.
Arash Azizi has translated the book into Persian.
Iranian ensemble to perform works by Astor Piazzolla
TEHRAN – The Iranian ensemble Quintet Adios will perform a selection of compositions by Argentine composer Astor Piazzolla (1921–1992) at Tehran’s Rudaki Hall tonight.
The ensemble features Soheil Shayestepur on violin, Mohammadreza Heidar on guitar, Adib Qorbani on piano and Omid Shayestepur on bass guitar.
The group gave their first performance on Wednesday night.
