Book City deputy director to give speech on Rumi in Florence
TEHRAN – The deputy director of Tehran’s Book City Institute, Ali-Asghar Mohammadkhani, recently traveled to Italy to hold literary and cultural meetings with Persian language scholars in several cities of the country.
The meetings have been organized by the National Central Library in Florence, Ponte33 Publications, and the Iranian cultural attaché’s office in Rome.
He will deliver a speech on the Persian mystic and poet Molana Jalal ad-Din Rumi (1207-1273) at the National Central Library in Florence on June 29.
Books on Indo-Iranian common heritage published in Iran
TEHRAN – A collection of books on the common heritage of Iran and India have recently been published in Iran.
The collection, which contains 40 books, was introduced during a ceremony at the University of Tehran on Wednesday evening.
In addition, a collection of articles, which were previously discussed during the First Indo-Iranian Common Heritage Seminar in September 2013 in the central Iranian city of Qom, was introduced at the ceremony.
Both collections have been published by the Iranian Society for the Promotion of Persian Language and Literature.
Vocalist Simin Ghanem performing concerts in Tehran
TEHRNA – Iranian vocalist Simin Ghanem began a series of concerts at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall on Wednesday.
Only female audiences are allowed to attend the concerts, which will continue tonight and tomorrow night.
The tickets for the concerts are available on the website of Iranconcert.com.
In Iran, only females are allowed to attend solo performances by female singers.
Iranian movies to go on screen at Manila festival
TEHRAN -- Three Iranian films will go on screen during the World Premieres Film Festival, which will be held in Manila, the Philippines from June 29 to July 8.
The films are “Romantic Nostalgia” directed by Reza Azamian, “White Slopes” by Mohammad-Ebrahim Moayyeri and “Green Umbrella” by Nasser Refaei.
