TEHRAN – Spanish photojournalist Samuel Aranda and six Iranian photographers showcased their latest works on the theme of war in a collection entitled “Trace” in an exhibition at Tehran’s Silk Road Gallery on Friday.
The collection contains works by Mehdi Monem, Ali Najian, Ramyar Manuchehrzadeh, Saba Alizadeh, Babak Kazemi and Saeid Hatami.
“‘Trace’ approaches the issue of war from a psychological point of view and is an exploration of human values within the harsh context of war,” writes the gallery on its website.
The photographers share their experiences and opinions on war in this exhibit. The photos reflect the devastating effect of war on the everyday day lives of people, showing how they fight against it and try to continue their normal lives.
Born in Barcelona in 1979, Aranda is currently a freelancer mainly for The New York Times.
Organized by the Embassy of Spain in Tehran in collaboration with the gallery, a meeting was held on the opening day with several officials from the embassy, photographers and the press participating.
The exhibit will be running for 10 days at the gallery located at 103 Lavasani St. in the Kamranieh neighborhood.
