Ramiz Guliyev (1947), who teaches tar to post graduate students in Baku Music Academy, will give his performances at the Eyvan-e Shams Hall on February 15 and in Tehran’s Vahdat Hall on February 17, the organizers announced on Wednesday.
Ramiz Guliyev was born on April 30 in 1947 in Agdam, Tarzen in the Azerbaijan Republic. He studied music in the Azerbaijan State Conservatoire
Ramiz Guliyev was the headmaster of the faculty of folk musical instruments of Baku Music Academy from 1990 to 2000.
He was the soloist of the Azerbaijan State Philharmonic Society during the years 1964 to 1994.
In 1988, he was awarded the special prize in the International Folklore Festival held in the USA by the UNESCO.
Several international musicians including Dutch pianist Wolfert Brederode have been invited to the festival this year.
