TEHRAN -- Iran’s Pasargad Vocal Ensemble will compete at the Canta al Mar 2012, a Spanish choir international festival, which will be held in Calella from October 17 to 21.

The ensemble, which is from the city of Shiraz, will compete in the folklore and mixed choir sections of the festival.

Shabnam Karimi, Tayyebeh Azimi, Ghazal Tabandeh, Mahtab Bozorgpur, Alireza Golshan, Milad Omranlu, Tayyeb Faqih and Hamed Faqihi are the members of the ensemble.

The Pasargad Vocal Ensemble performed a concert at a ceremony that was held in Paris last week on Thursday to celebrate Iran’s Hafez National Day.

French Orientalist and Hafez expert Charles-Henri de Fouchecour was among the people who attended the ceremony.

Canta al mar (Singing at the sea) is a meeting of choirs from all over the world in which communal singing at squares in the city streets full of Catalan atmosphere will take center stage.
