Iranian, German actresses share award at Eurasia festival

TEHRAN -- Elaheh Hesari from Iran and Jordis Triebel from Germany shared the best actress award at the 9th Eurasia International Film Festival, which was held from September 17 to 22 in Almaty, Kazakhstan, announced organizers on Sunday.
 
The award was jointly presented to Hessari for her part in Alireza Amini’s “Do Not Worry Sara” and Triebel for her role in Lars Kraume’s “My Sisters”. 
 
Elaheh Hesari, Behrang Alavi, Siavash Jafari, Parvin Maleki, Khosro Shahraz and Danial Moqaddam star in the film.
 
The grand prix of the festival went to “In Bloom”, a joint production of Germany, France and Georgia, directed by Nana Ekvtimishvili and Simon Gross.
 
The film is set in the early 1990s in Tbilisi, the capital of the newly independent Georgia after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
