Iranian scholars deliver speeches at Indonesian festival

TEHRAN -- Two Iranian theater scholars gave lectures at the International Wayang Puppet Festival, which is currently underway in the Indonesian resort island of Bali.
 
Mahtab Mahdavifar and Simin Amirian gave talks on Kheimeh Shab-Bazi, a Persian traditional puppet show performed in a small chamber by a musical performer and a person called a morshed (mentor), at the seminar section of the festival.
 
Groups from Japan, the United States of America, Iran, Malaysia, the Philippines, China, India and Thailand are performing puppet shows during the festival, which is dedicated to traditional puppet shows. 
 
The festival runs until September 27 at the Rumah Topeng (Mask House) in Central Banjar Tengkulak, Gianyar District.
