TEHRAN – Books put out by the Iranian publishing house Shabaviz will be going on display at Colors of the Sacred, an international exhibit of illustration works that will be held in Padova, Italy from January 18 to June 2, 2014.
The company, which is a leading publisher of Iranian children’s books, will be sending 30 works by 30 Iranian illustrators to the exhibit, Shabaviz Managing Director Farideh Khalatbari told the Persian service of MNA on Monday.
The theme of the seventh edition of the exhibit is journey, the issue which has been referred to in different sacred texts and mythological tales, rituals and traditions in different cultures.
Khalatbari said that the books selected have illustrations, which center on the theme of journey in Iranian religious and mythical beliefs, adding that the texts of the books have been translated into English.
The exhibition will open to the public on January 18, 2014 and the selected works will go on display in the galleries of the Museo Diocesano of Padova until June 2, 2014.
The winner will be awarded a cash prize of € 1,000. The selected original illustrations will be published, complete with captions in the catalogue of the exhibition as well as on posters and postcards available for sale in bookshops at the different venues where the exhibition will be staged.
