Slovakian festival to spotlight Iranian cinema

TEHRAN -- Barbican Festival, a Slovakian event in the fields of cinema, music, and fine art, is scheduled to highlight Iranian cinema in a program entitled “Focus on Iran Cinematography” in October.
 
A collection of films including “The Last Step” directed by Ali Mosaffa, “Saadatabad” by Maziar Miri, and “There Are Things You Don’t Know” by Fardin Sahebzamani will be screened in this section, organizers have announced on the festival’s website.
 
In addition, “Hatred” by Reza Dormishian, “Gold and Copper” by Homayun As’adian, “Rainy Seasons” by Majid Barzegar and “Do Not Disturb Please!” by Mohsen Abdolvahhab are in the collection.
 
These films will also be reviewed during meetings, and Q and A sessions will be arranged after each screening.
 
Mehdi Naderi, Iranian director of “Farewell Baghdad” that was screened at last year’s Barbican, and Iranian producer Mohammad Atebbaii will be the special guests of the festival, which will be held from October 10 to 14.
