TEHRAN -- Iranian filmmaker Vahid Musaian is continuing to film “The Fourth Child” on the famine-stricken people of Somalia in the Sahara Desert in northern Africa.
The movie explores the human misery occurring in parts of Africa.
Shooting began at Tehran’s Mellat Cinema Complex on August 2, and the cast and crew later traveled to Somalia to continue.
Mahtab Karamati, Mehdi Hashemi, Hossein Moheb-Ahari and Hamed Behdad are the main members of the cast. Several local actors also star in the film.
Filming will continue in the Sahara Desert portraying the Battle of Mogadishu (1993), depicting the scenes related to the battle and the violence against women and children.
However, the hot weather and the shortage of primary facilities in the locations have made it a difficult situation for the cast and crew.
Musaian’s credits include “Golchehreh”, “The Bright House”, “The Earrings”, “The Lost Land” and “Silence of Sea”.
