TEHRAN -- A Russian translation of Imam Khomeini’s Exegesis of the Surah al-Fatiha was introduced during a ceremony at the Iranian cultural attaché’s office in Moscow on Saturday.
Translated into Russian by Kabil Shah Idrisof and edited by Russian Islamologist Tofiq Ibrahimov, the book was published by Nauchnye Publications in Moscow last year, Iranian cultural attaché’s office reported in a press release on Sunday.
Idrisof, Ibrahimov, Iran’ cultural attaché Abuzar Ebrahimi and several cultural figures attended the ceremony.
Ebrahimi gave a brief speech about the significant characteristics of Imam Khomeini, the Founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Ibrahimov also expressed hope that the translation can help introduce Islamic thoughts and opinions to Russian society.
In addition, Idrisof said that the book contains the holy verses, as well as Quranic concepts, which made it a hard task for translation.
He hoped the book would help make Russian individuals more familiar with the thoughts and ideas of Imam Khomeini.
