TEHRAN – Fourteen films will be competing in the international section of the 12th Resistance, Revolution and Sacred Defense International Film Festival, organizers announced in a press release on Saturday.
“Burnt by the Sun” directed by Nikita Mikhalkov from Russia, “Outside the Law” by Rachid Bouchareb and “Free Men” by Ismael Ferroukhi from France, “18 Days” by Ahmad Abdallah and Mariam Abou Ouf from Egypt, and “Beyond the Border” by Richard Holm from Sweden are some of the entries to the international section of the festival, which will take place in Iran and several other countries from September 24 to 28.
“Golchehreh” by Vahid Musaiian, “33 Days” by Jamal Shurjeh, “Days of Life” by Parviz Sheikhtadi and “The Queen” by Mohammad-Ali Ahangar are some of the Iranian entries to the international section.
The jury members include Amr Samir Atef from Egypt, Fernando Lucena from Spain, and Ali Daher and Mohammad Dabough from Lebanon.
The international section is comprised of three parts: feature-length movies, documentaries and films on the martyred Hezbollah commander Imad Mughniyeh.
The festival is due to be held simultaneously in Kerman as well as six other cities: Helsinki, Istanbul, Beirut, Kabul, Dushanbe, Pyongyang and Damascus.
Films focusing on “Resistance and Islamic Awakening”, “Terrorism and International Zionism” and “Struggle against the Global Arrogance” are the festival’s highlights.
