TEHRAN – Iran will be participating in the 25th Moscow International Book Fair running from September 5 to 10, displaying books by 50 Iranian publishers, the Iranian Cultural Fair Institute (ICFI) announced.

“We are determined to showcase over 500 books in the different fields of poetry, fiction, religion, children and young adults,” ICFI director Mohammad Azimi said on Sunday.

Posters reflecting Persian art and architecture will also be handed to visitors at Iran’s pavilion, Azimi said.

Meeting with Russian publishers and inviting them to the 2013 Tehran International Book Fair are among the programs arranged on the side section of the festival, he added.

“We are also planning to negotiate with foreign publishers for translations of top Iranian books especially into Russian,” he said.

Focusing on the motto “Publishers of the World Unite”, over 1500 publishers from different countries including Germany, France, Japan, Italy, Turkey and Britain are taking part in the fair.

Over the past few years, the organizing committee of the fair has selected one country as the guest of the honor of the fair; France is the guest of honor of the fair this year.
