Nomads from Fars, Markazi, Lorestan, Kordestan and several other provinces will be performing their regional music for visitors during the 5-day summit, director of Tehran Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Department Mohammad-Hossein Farahani told the Persian service of IRNA.
Local bread and traditional cuisines are also offered at the tents, he added.
In addition, naqqali, a style of storytelling dedicated to epic stories from Shahnameh, as well as performances of local plays are among the programs designated for the foreign guests, he said.
This is part of the major ongoing exhibition of Milad Tower entitled “Tourism Potentials of Iran.”
Also included are several short tours across the capital and visits to the palace museums of Tehran.
Black tents are woven by nomad women from the hair of black goats. The tents will remain up at the tower until the end of the summit, which closes on August 31.
