“The Modest Reception” to compete in more intl. festivals

TEHRAN -- After winning awards in several international festivals, “The Modest Reception” will compete in two Western international festivals. 
 
The latest work of Iranian director/actor Mani Haqiqi will compete at the Middle Eastern Film Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland, and the 36th Portland International Film Festival in the United States.
 
Edinburgh will host the Middle Eastern Film Festival from February 7 to 21.
 
The 36th Portland International Film Festival will be held from February 7 to 23 in U.S.
 
The Film won the Free Spirit Award at the Warsaw Film Festival in last October. This award is presented to a film with unique structure, strong ideas and excellent performances.
 
The film won the NETPAC Prize at the Berlin Film Festival in 2012, and the stars of the film won the best actor and actress awards at 12th Osian’s Cinefan Film Festival in New Delhi in August 2012.
 
“Modest Reception is about a well-situated couple, Leila and Kaveh, who drive through the mountains distributing plastic bags full of money to every poor and unfortunate person they meet. 
 
Starring Haqiqi and Taraneh Alidusti, “Modest Reception” has received accolades from several international festivals.
 
The film is currently competing at the Vesoul International Film Festival of Asian Cinema, which runs until February 12 in France.
 
The acclaimed Iranian actress Baran Kowsari is amongst the jury members of the festival.
 
“Modest Reception” is currently on screen in Iranian theaters and was screened in several theaters in Switzerland last September. The film was distributed in the country by the Trigon-Film Foundation.
