Iranian organization to publish pictorial history of Islamic Revolution

TEHRAN – An art organization plans to publish a pictorial book on the history of Iran after the Islamic Revolution in 1979.
 
Entitled “Thirty Years”, the book will be released by the Oj Artistic Media Organization during the Ten-Day Dawn, the celebrations Iran will hold from January 31 to February 10 to commemorated the 34th anniversary of the revolution, the organization announced in a press release on Tuesday.
 
The book contains about 1400 photos explained with Persian-English captions. The photos have been taken by over 300 photographers from 1979 to 2008.
 
A team of experts spent five years gathering the photos, which depict political, social and cultural events in Iran over the three decades.
 
Among the members of the team are Reza Taherkhani, Mohammad Dorudian, Farhad Soleimani, Ahmad Mohit-Tabatabaii, Abbas Mirhashemi and Maryam Jalali.
 
The book also contains short descriptions for some events. In addition, former culture minister Mohammad-Hossein Saffar Harandi has written a preface to the book.
 
The book will be unveiled at a ceremony during the Ten-Day Dawn celebrations at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall.
