The play is about a man who lives in New York. He is a surrealist intellectual who has reached a complete deadlock with modernity and is on the verge of killing himself. Meanwhile, an uninvited guest of a simple nature comes from Iran to visit him.
The acclaimed play was performed at the Chaharsu Hall of Tehran’s City Theater Complex last October.
“We have been invited to perform the play during the festival and we have accepted,” actor/director Aiish told the Persian service of FNA on Tuesday.
“We probably will have one performance at the main hall of the City Theater Complex,” he added.
Nasirian and Aiish had performed the play in the United States and several other countries 18 years ago. They also staged the play at the main hall of Tehran’s City Theater Complex at the time.
They had worked together in “Windows”, which was staged at the complex in 2005.
The play was written by Aiish 19 year ago, when he lived in the United States. On his trip to the U.S., he asked Nasirian to join him in performing the play in the country.
Aiish previously said that Nasirian was selected for the play due to the character he played in “Mr. Simpleton”, which was directed by Daruish Mehrjuii in 1970.
