A number Iranian and Italian scholars scrutinized the poetry of Giovanni Turra and Francesco Targhetta at the Contemporary Italian Poets Night, which was organized by the Persian magazine Bokhara.
The poets, Italian cultural attaché Carlo Cereti, literary critic Clara Corona, translator Antonia Shoraka, celebrated Iranian author Mahmud Dolatabadi and several other literati attended the meeting.
Iranian people have always attached much more importance to poetry than Italians have over history, Cereti said during the meeting.
Corona delivered a speech about the Italian poetry of the 20th century and the narrative style of the poetry of Turra and Targhetta.
At the end of the ceremony, the two poets Turra and Targhetta read some of their poems for the audience.
