TEHRAN -- Iran’s Al-Huda Publications has recently released a book, which explores the uprising of Ashura, the tenth day of Muharram upon which Imam Hussein (AS) and 72 of his companions were martyred, for English readers.

Authored by Mohammad-Mehdi Haji-Parvaneh, “The 10th Day” has been translated into English by Nader Amuzgar, the Persian service of FNA reported on Friday.

“I a journalist, but this is first time I have written a book,” Haji-Parvaneh said.

“I was commissioned by Al-Huda to write the book in Persian and the institute asked Mr. Amuzgar to translate it,” he added.

He said that he wrote the book for readers with very little knowledge about the uprising of Ashura.

“I also tried to write the book for a reader who lives in the 21st century,” he stated and added “This is a beginning for an English reader who wants to learn about the event.”
