TEHRAN -- The Iranian animated film “Game” directed by Jamal Rahmati has won the Best Animation Film Award at the 8th International Youth and Student Film Festival -- START in the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The winners were announced during a closing ceremony at the Nizami Movie Center in Baku on Saturday.
Eighty-seven entries from over 20 countries competed in various sections of the event.
The films were judged by a jury of film professionals, including winners at European festivals.
The 8th International Youth and Student Film Festival “START” has been running since 2004 and was founded by the Center for Young Filmmakers Cinema.
The Iranian filmmaker Tahmineh Milani is among the members of the jury of the festival.
Twelve Iranian films competed at the festival, which was held from November 28 to 30.
