TEHRAN – A Dutch-Japanese couple interested in Persian nomads and their traditional way of living, has made their wish come true recently by holding their wedding ceremony in the Iranian nomad style in a black tent near the city of Yasuj in Kolkiluyeh-Boyer Ahmad Province.
A Dutch national named Joris and a Japanese national named Nachmi got to know each other through the internet and decided to hold their wedding ceremony among the Persian nomads in Iran.
“The couple continued their research on nomads when they entered Iran and got to know about our project on Persian nomads,” documentary filmmaker Ali Layeqzadeh told Persian service of MNA on Tuesday.
“The Handwoven Pieces of My Motherland” is a documentary by Layeqzadeh on nomads and their traditional life styles recently filmed in Kohkiluyeh-Boyer Ahmad Province.
The couple arrived on the filming scene in southern Iran and the crew decided to make their wish come true, he said.
“Clad in nomad costumes, the couple held their ceremony among the nomads, and crying tears of joy, they joined with the nomads in their traditional dances performed for their marriage. They also tied two handwoven bracelets on their wrists to remember their wedding day,” he said.
The documentary ended with a female nomad handing a piece of kilim to the couple and wishing them the best in their life, he added.
Several actors including Ezzatollah Entezami, Afsaneh Bayegan, Zohreh Hamidi and Yalda Qashqaii have depicted part of the forgotten heritage of this land in this doc.
