TEHRAN -- Cinema Organization of Iran (COI) Director Hojjatollah Ayyubi has selected the members of the Iranian Strategy Council for International Cinematic Affairs, which implements policies of the COI in the international arena and exploits the potentials of Iranian cinema in public diplomacy.
Former diplomats Seyyed Mohammad-Sadeq Kharrazi, Hamidreza Asefi and Mohammad Ruhisefat are among those appointed to the council, COI announced in a press release on Monday.
In addition, actor and producer Alireza Shojanuri, producers Mohammad-Ali Hossein-nejad and Ali Mo’allem, Morteza, and directors Morteza Razzaq-Karimi and Mohammad-Mehdi Asgarpur were also selected for the council.
Concerning Mohammad-Javad Shabestari, another member of the council, no background was mentioned.
The director of the COI, who is also the deputy culture minister for cinematic affairs, is the president of the council.
The director of the International Department and the secretary of the council, the directors of the Farabi Cinema Foundation and the Institute for Visual Media are also the members of the board.
