TEHRAN -- The Iranian Society of Cultural Works and Luminaries plans to honor master calligrapher Gholamhossein Amirkhani for his lifetime achievements.
A large number of artists and literati have been invited to the commemoration, which will be held on January 24.
Amirkhani, 75, has been the teacher of most of the prominent Iranian calligraphers.
He is considered the father contemporary Iranian calligraphy.
His works have previously been showcased at exhibitions in England, France, Pakistan, Syria and many other countries.
