Author Mahmud Golabdareii dies at 73

TEHRAN -- Veteran novelist and short story writer Mahmud Golabdarreii died of respiratory disease at his home in Tehran on Sunday. He was 73.
 
Born in 1939 in Tehran, Golabdareii began his writing career with “The Brick Baker Dog” in 1970.
 
He was one of the disciples and friends of the renowned Iranian author Jalal Al-e Ahmad (1923–1969).
 
His credits include “Swallows”, “The Cold Desert”, “Mr. Jalal”, “Prairie”, “Blade of Straw” and several other novels and short stories.
