Vakilifar was not able to attend the closing ceremony of the festival on Sunday and Iranian film critic Minu Moshiri received the mention.
“Only a few words from the bottom of my heart. (Festival director) Mr. (Dimitri) Eipides was the first one to discover and promote Iranian cinema, and has been a steady supporter ever since. I extend a special thanks to him,” she said in her acceptance speech.
“Taboor” is about a man who seeks to protect his hypersensitive body from a daily rise in temperature caused by pervasive electromagnetic waves.
The French company DreamLab Films is the distributor of this film.
The jury also presented the Second Special Mention to “The Color of the Chameleon” by Bulgarian director Emil Christov.
“A Hijacking”, by Danish filmmaker Tobias Lindholm was named best film at the festival.
