TEHRAN --
The renowned Lebanese Christian writer, George Jordac, who is mostly know for his “The Voice of Human Justice” about Imam Ali (AS), died in his home in Beirut on Wednesday at the age of 84, some Persian news websites announced on Thursday.

He began his writing career in 1950 as a journalist for the newspapers Al Anwar, Al Kifah Al Arabi and Al Qabas, and several magazines.

He wrote “The Voice of Human Justice” about the life, character, and attributes of Imam Ali (AS) in 1960. The book was then translated into English, Spanish, French and several other languages.

The book was translated into Persian by Seyyed Hadi Khosroshahi in 1961.

Mikha’il Na’ima, the Lebanese author and poet of the New York Pen League, wrote a preface to the English version of “The Voice of Human Justice”.

“I am sure that George Jordac, a research scholar and an unbiased person as he is, has been successful in describing the life of the Imam to a large extent and those who read it will be obliged to say that it is the biography of a person who was second to Prophet of Islam,” he wrote.

Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani offered his condolences over the death of Jordac in a message, which was published by some Persian news agencies on Friday.

“Mr. George Jordac was a prominent literary and cultural figure who spent over four decades of his life studying about Imam Ali (AS), and his books show his affection for the Shias’ first Imam,” Larijani said.

“I offer my condolences over the death of this eminent scholar to his family, the dear people of Lebanon, unbigoted Christians, and literati. May his soul rest in perfect peace,” he added.
